we were greeted by a lovely lady who checked us in, gave us our room key and showed us to our room. The room was very lovely, four poster bed with little fairy lights, roll top bath and they had gone to the effort of putting rose petals and a bottle of Prosecco in the room as I had mentioned it was an anniversary (thoughtful touch) … the only thing we can fault about the room was that it was uncomfortably warm! we slept with the windows open and even still was so very warm. we was also woken up early by the sounds of the church bells (we are early risers anyway so they didn’t really bother us, it was actually quite nice to listen to) however if you want a lay in this probably isn’t the hotel fo you on a Sunday morning. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Overall a lovely stay and we really enjoyed our visit.

Great welcome by the lady at the front desk. She allowed me to check in early with no hassle or stress. The hotel was beautiful and a great location for a wedding locally. The room was really spacious and beautiful, decorated, clean, and welcoming, and breakfast was included in the price, so it was great value, with a lot of selection to choose from. Again, check out was smooth, quick, and easy. If I'm in the area again, no hesitation, I would stay again.

Rachel

The room was perfect, overlooking the church. The bathroom, luxurious with great toiletries and fluffy towels. Ellie (the manager, I think) was so helpful, booking us a taxi, then later when we were waiting for it outside, came out to tell us it was going to be late after ringing up to see where it was. She was there in the morning bright and cheerful to give us our lovely breakfast.

The Wellington (the boot not an old aeroplane!), is an old public house, central to the old partof Welwyn, with on-site parking at the rear of the pub. The staff are excellent, although breakfast staff are somewhat overwhelmed, trying to serve both residents and early visitors to the pub. Anything on the breakfast menu is included in the room price. Room are quirky but clean.

Patrick

Large room furnished well with a very comfortable bed and good bed linen. Parking was easy and free and the welcome from the staff was excellent. The room was warm even in the very cold weather and everything needed was included especially a coffee machine and bottled water. The room made the most of the character of the old building. Breakfast was excellent by the fire.
